Ludovic Dervillez is a French abstract painter whose work explores gesture, material, and temporality. Working primarily in mixed media on canvas, he creates works where painting becomes a site of experience - each canvas emerging from a tension between erasure and presence, revealing a quiet depth through marks handled with precision and restraint.

His practice is driven by a search for the essential, a refined abstraction that is both physical and meditative. His canvases balance gesture and emptiness, inviting the viewer into an interiorized space of perception where each mark builds a presence that is subtle and controlled.

Born in 1973, Dervillez graduated from the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Reims in 1995 and taught there from 1997 to 2005. He held an artist residency at La Fileuse, Reims (2016-2019), and founded La Grange Gallery, an independent space in Cernay-lès-Reims dedicated to contemporary abstract painting.
